متن کاملAntimicrobial Potential of Ficus Bengalensis Aerial Roots
Herbal preparations of Ficus bengalensis L. (Moraceae) have been considered as safe, effective and economical for various ailments in Indian traditional system of medicine. The present study was aimed to scientifically explore the antimicrobial potential of F. bengalensis aerial roots. Effect of variable concentrations of aqueous and hexane extracts of F. bengalensis aerial roots was studied on...
متن کاملPollutant-induced cell death and reactive oxygen species accumulation in the aerial roots of Chinese banyan (Ficus microcarpa)
Industrial pollutants induce the production of toxic reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as O2.-, H2O2, and ·OH in plants, but they have not been well quantified or localized in tissues and cells. This study evaluated the pollutant- (HSO3-, NH4NO3, Al3+, Zn2+, and Fe2+) induced toxic effects of ROS on the aerial roots of Chinese banyan (Ficus microcarpa). Root cell viability was greatly reduced ...
متن کاملTwo New Triterpenoids from the Roots of Codonopsis pilosula.
Pseudolarolides U and V, two new triterpenoids, and four biogenetically related compounds, pseudolarolides E, F, K, and P were isolated from the roots of Codonopsis pilosula (Campanulaceae). Their structures were determined by spectroscopic data. The regulation of Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) activity by all the isolated compounds was evaluated.
